Who We Are
Language Acquisition Resource Center
at San Diego State University
LARC has two computer labs:
Room 204 & Room 205 located within the Storm Hall building.
Room 204 has 32 PCs, all of which are outfitted with programs such Windows Live Movie Maker, Adobe Suite audio and video recording and SDL Trados Software.
Room 205 has 32 i-Mac computers with programs such as Skype, Sound Studio, i-Movie, and DiLL. All computers support many other software tools to aid students in their work.
These computers are also setup to type in any language. There are 16 computers with Pashtu keyboards, 9 with Arabic keyboards and 1 with a Persian Keyboard. All computers in 204 and 205 have Microsoft Office available to users. Both labs also have a pay printing station for students, staff and visitors to use. The printing stations work on a card swipe system, which is the same as in the SDSU Library. Any person with a valid SDSU ID card can print as long as there is money on the card. The LARC does not have money loading stations for ID cards.
LARC also has a vast inventory of audio, video and software materials which can help in furthering language learning. All CDs, DVDs and computer programs such as Tell Me More are available upon request at the lab assistant’s counter, to all language students, faculty and staff.
We welcome you once more to our facilities and hope to be of help and assistance in
your studies.
